Scope
JAMA Internal Medicine is an international peer-reviewed journal providing innovative and clinically relevant research for practitioners in general internal medicine and internal medicine subspecialties. We strive to publish articles that are stimulating to read, educate and inform readers with the most up-to-date research, and lead to positive change in our health care systems and the way we deliver patient care. JAMA Internal Medicine is a member of the JAMA Network, a consortium of peer-reviewed, general medical and specialty publications. Articles published in JAMA Internal Medicine have led to actions by the FDA and congressional hearings on matters of patient safety that have put into place better measures to protect the public. The journal has a series, called "Less Is More®," that highlights situations in which the overuse of medical care may result in harm and in which less care is likely to result in better health. Manuscripts are designated as "Less Is More" by the editors if the subject highlights the value of improved patient-centered outcomes associated with lesser intensity or quantity of interventions. To promote the art and science of medicine and the betterment of human health by publishing manuscripts of interest and relevance to internists practicing as generalists or as medical subspecialists.
