Scope
The American Journal of Clinical Dermatology promotes evidence-based therapy and effective patient management within the discipline of dermatology by publishing critical and comprehensive review articles and clinically focussed original research articles covering all aspects of the management of dermatological conditions.
The Journal includes:
- Definitive reviews relating to the management of dermatological conditions.
- Systematic review articles collating all empirical evidence that fits pre-specified eligibility criteria to answer a specific research question.
- Leading/Current Opinion articles providing an overview of contentious or emerging areas and key regulatory and ethical issues.
- Therapy in Practice reviews covering optimum management of specific conditions.
- Original research articles with a strong link to clinical practice.
- Adis Drug Evaluations reviewing the properties and place in therapy of drugs in dermatology.
The American Journal of Clinical Dermatology offers a range of additional features designed to increase the visibility, readership and educational value of the journal’s content. Each article is accompanied by a Key Points summary, giving a time-efficient overview of the content to a wide readership. Articles may be accompanied by plain language summaries to assist readers who have some knowledge of, but not in-depth expertise in, the area to understand the scientific content and overall implications of the article. The journal also provides the option to include various types of digital features including animated abstracts, video abstracts, slide decks, audio slides, instructional videos, infographics, podcasts and animations. All additional features are peer reviewed to the same high standard as the article itself. Peer review is conducted using Editorial Manager®, supported by a database of international experts. This database is shared with other Adis journals.
