Scope
Expert Review of Hematology [ISSN 1747-4086]; [e-ISSN 1747-4094] is a MEDLINE-indexed, international journal publishing rigorously peer-reviewed review articles and original papers in hematology.
Expert Review of Hematology explores how the advanced molecular research techniques that have transformed hematology in recent years will translate directly into clinical practice.
With improved understanding of hematologic diseases, we can now research and evaluate new biological therapies, new drugs and drug combinations, new treatment schedules and novel approaches including stem cell transplantation. We can also expect proteomics, molecular genetics and biomarker research to facilitate new diagnostic approaches and the identification of appropriate therapies. Further advances in our knowledge regarding the formation and function of blood cells and blood-forming tissues should ensue, and it will be a major challenge for hematologists to adopt these new paradigms and develop integrated strategies to define the best possible patient care.
Articles focus on the following key areas: Acute leukemias; Anemias; Bleeding disorders; Bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation; Cellular disorders; Chronic leukemias; Disorders of iron metabolism; Hodgkins disease; Infection in hematology; Immunodeficiency syndromes; Autoimmune diseases; Marrow failure syndromes; Multiple myeloma and amyloidosis; Neutropenia; Non-Hodgkin lymphomas; Pediatric hematology; Platelet disorders; Thrombosis and hemostasis; Transfusion medicine.
Expert Review of Hematology publishes a plethora of article types, such as clinically relevant Reviews, Editorials, Original Research and Drug Profiles. Correspondence through the submission of Letters to the Editor is also welcomed. Please note that the journal does not publish case reports.
Comprehensive coverage in each review is complemented by the unique Expert Collection format and includes the following sections:
Expert Opinion – a personal view of the data presented in the article, a discussion on the developments that are likely to be important in the future, and the avenues of research likely to become exciting as further studies yield more detailed results; Article Highlights – an executive summary of the author’s most critical points.
