Scope
The journal is named Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), which is not only the name of a new technique, but over the past decades this field has emerged as a discipline in its own right. This rapidly expanding medical field has revolutionized the detection and treatment to lesions inside and outside the natural lumens or tracts. With its ability to obtain a histological and even molecular diagnosis, EUS has not only increased the accuracy of the diagnosis for malignancies, but also played an important role in the era of precision medicine. More recently EUS guided interventional techniques have become more promising and are replacing more and more conventional surgical procedures. The journal named after this field covers all aspects of gastrointestinal EUS, endobronchial ultrasound, laparoscopic and robotic ultrasound, from medical instrument engineering, basic research to clinical studies and applications. As the official journal of Euro-EUS scientific committee, it is not only filling a long standing gap in the field of medical science, but also helping to create a stimulating new frontier on applications of EUS in the EUS related promising minimally invasive medicine and precision medicine. Since EUS is an interdisciplinary science, this field, so as the journal serve not only the gastroenterologists, endoscopist, surgeons and pulmonologists, but also the endocrinologists, urologists, gynecologists, anesthetists, pediatrists, pathologists and biomedical engineers.
