Scope
The aim of Journal of Bone Metabolism is to set high standards of medical care by providing a forum for discussion for basic, clinical, and translational researchers and clinicians on new findings in the fields of bone and muscle related metabolism. The topics covered by this journal include bone and mineral metabolism, the anatomy and physiology of bone, diagnostic densitometry, osteoporotic fracture, metabolic bone diseases (osteoporosis, osteomalacia/rickets, osteopetrosis, renal osteodystropathy etc.), clinical trials, epidemiology and bone and muscle interaction.
In addition, changes in body composition, especially those affecting skeletal muscle, that is, Sarcopenia, are the main interests of the journal, which may play a role in reduced physical performance, falls, and disability. This journal covers results from studies undertaken over diagnostic and assessment approaches, biochemistry, pharmacology are related to sarcopenia.
The contents include review articles, editorials, original articles, brief reports, letters to the editor, and correspondences. Authors are welcome to submit review articles on topics of current interest and review articles that discuss a single topic in detail. The journal also invites review articles to address pertinent clinical and therapeutic issues for its practicing readership. All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a review process by a member of the editorial board and an external peer.
