Scope
Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound is a bimonthly, international, peer-reviewed, research journal devoted to the fields of veterinary diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology. Established in 1958, it is owned by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR). Affiliated organizations include the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Diagnostic Imaging, Australasian Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, Brazilian Veterinary Radiology Association, European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, International Veterinary Radiology Association, and Korean Society of Veterinary Medical Imaging. Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound is represented on the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, World Association of Medical Editors, and Committee on Publication Ethics. The mission of ACVR is to promote excellence in patient care by providing leadership, innovation, and education in veterinary diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology (ACVR.org). Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound supports this mission through publication of high-quality articles. Manuscript types include original investigations, imaging diagnosis reports, radiation therapy communications, invited reviews, invited commentaries, consensus statements, short communications, editorials, and Letters to the Editor. Journal policies and procedures are established by the VRU Editorial Board, in consultation with the ACVR Executive Council and Wiley-Blackwell Publishers. Acceptance criteria for manuscripts include originality, significance, quality, reader interest, composition and adherence to author guidelines. The time from submission to first decision averages 35 days. Currently papers are published online with a DOI and Pubmed ID on Wiley-Blackwell’s “EarlyView” within 60 working days from the date of final edit.
