Scope
Atención Primaria Práctica is an international journal in Spanish and English that publishes articles of interest to healthcare professionals who wish to learn about the practical aspects of the discipline. It is included in the group of "case reports" journals but is not limited to publishing clinical cases but also addresses all those aspects that are of interest to practical primary care such as projects to improve clinical quality, patient safety, person-centred care, community programmes, ethical conflicts or organisational innovations that improve primary care. Descriptive studies of cases and unique experiences are located at the base of the pyramid of scientific evidence and for this reason they are not usually accepted in journals that publish biomedical research, however these works provide knowledge that can be very useful for the clinician, for the student and for the researcher. They are interesting for identifying rare or new diseases, for evaluating the effects of therapeutics, their adverse effects or the cost of interventions and contribute to problem-based learning and not repeating mistakes. They allow the creation of guidelines or clinical practice pathways or to suggest future research projects. They are an important part of the progress of medicine.
