Scope

GMS Medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie / Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (MIBE) publishes scientific papers about methods, concepts, tools and solutions in the fields of medical informatics, biometry, epidemiology, medical documentation and life science informatics, and about their innovative application in medicine. MIBE aims to support the healthy and the sick as well as medical professionals and scientists in preventing, healing and easing diseases and to better understand their causes and impact. MIBE publishes research articles about collecting, analyzing and providing data about health and diseases and about designing processes in medical research and patient care. The journal also publishes review papers, case and project reports, letters to the editor and GMDS pronouncements. MIBE is strongly connected to and supported by members of the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie) and the Life Science Informatics (ILW, Informatik in den Lebenswissenschaften) section of the German Informatics Society (GI, Gesellschaft für Informatik). Consequently, GMS MIBE supports the goals of GMDS and feels bound to its ethical guidelines. MIBE is an open access e-journal.
