Scope
NMO is the official Journal of the European Society of Neurogastroenterology & Motility (ESNM) and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS). The editorial and peer review process is independent of the societies affiliated to the journal and publisher: Neither the ANMS, the ESNM or the Publisher have editorial decision-making power. Whenever these are relevant to the content being considered or published, the editors, journal management committee and editorial board declare their interests and affiliations. NMO publishes original research and topical reviews (commissioned), in English, on basic and clinical aspects of, gastrointestinal motility and its control by myogenic, neural and chemical mechanisms, as well as basic and clinical aspects of brain-gut interactions and on how the central, autonomic and/or enteric nervous systems interact in the control of gastrointestinal motility or other gastrointestinal functions including absorption, secretion, vasomotor function and immunology. In addition, clinical trials papers, focused editorial viewpoints (commissioned), abstracts of symposia, meeting reports and notices of ANMS and ESNM business and matters of interest to members are published.
