Scope
Neuroscience Letters is devoted to the rapid publication of short, high-quality papers of interest to the broad community of neuroscientists. Papers in all areas of neuroscience - molecular, cellular, developmental, systems, behavioral, cognitive, and computational - will be considered for publication. Submission of laboratory investigations that shed light on disease mechanisms is encouraged. Neuroscience Letters does not publish case reports; papers that are primarily devoted to psychological or philosophical questions, papers that use unvalidated methodology, or that fall outside of the realm of neuroscience will also not be published. In addition, please note: Clinical research will not be considered, unless the study includes new experimental findings of interest to neuroscientists in general. Clinical studies will not be considered unless they teach a lesson about organization or function of the nervous system. Research on natural products, alternative medicine (acupuncture, etc.) and "traditional medicine" are not appropriate for Neuroscience Letters and will not be considered. Research that provides descriptive data but without a mechanistic link which is tested rigorously with experimental data, will not be considered. Research using only cell lines, for example PC12 cells, will not be considered.
