Scope
The Journal of Extracellular Vesicles publishes open access research on extracellular vesicles, including microvesicles, exosomes, ectosomes and apoptotic bodies. Journal of Extracellular Vesicles is the official journal of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles.
The journal provides an exchange of data, ideas and information on the chemistry, biology and/or applications of extracellular vesicles. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
Cellular and molecular mechanisms of extracellular vesicles biogenesis;
Cellular mechanisms including membrane trafficking and protein sorting related to vesicle extracellular release;
Technological advances in the isolation, quantification and characterization of extracellular vesicles;
Role and function of extracellular vesicles in disease;
Role and function of extracellular vesicles in biology;
Signal transduction, cellular uptake and dissemination of extracellular vesicles;
Structural biology relating to extracellular vesicles;
Stem cell derived extracellular vesicles and their biology;
Resources of informational databases, including large data sets on genomics, lipidomics, proteomics, metabolomics, high-throughput screening data, and beyond;
Application of extracellular vesicles for pharmacological, immunological or genetic therapies.
The journal accepts original research papers, review articles, short communications, technical reports, position papers, editorials, and letters to the Editor. Supplementary material in the form of large datasets, protocols, videos etc. is encouraged.
