Scope
The Chinese Journal of Neurology , a professional periodical sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association, was established in March 1955 as the Chinese Journal of Neurology and Psychiatry and served as a quarterly with 64 pages per issue until it changed into a bimonthly in 1959. In 1985, the portion of neurosurgery was separated from the journal, and then in 1996, the portion of psychiatry was also separated, and the journal carried its current name. In 2005, the journal was changed into a monthly. The journal reports great achievements in scientific research in neurology, promotes national academic exchanges, and accelerates the training of the neurological specialty in China. Leading scientific research, clinical experiences, and basic theoretical research are all welcomed for publication. The main columns of the journal include Comments, Special Topics, Original Articles, Lectures (including Continuous Medical Education), Reviews, Experience Exchanges, CPC, Scientific News, Academic Activities at Home and Abroad, Special Notes, Outstanding Figures, and Reader-Writer-Editor. The journal has constantly paid great attention to inviting those professionals who possess rich energy and vitality into the Editorial Board to be in charge of the peer reviewing work. This measure in turn contributes to the cultivation and growth of a group of leading specialists. The journal has also reformed and clarified the reviewing sheet. All these measures largely improve the journal, and thus they will be highly appreciated by readers and authors. Based on the efforts of all the staff of the journal and neurologists, a well-prepared plan for publication has been set, and research into common diseases should be a priority of consideration for publication. The journal has been honored with certificate of 100 Outstanding Academic Journals of China from 2003 to 2006. In 2005, the journal was the winner of 100 key Journals, the 3rd China National Periodical Award. Thus, the journal has been widely accepted as a high-level periodical that reports advanced neurological research.
