Scope
The Japanese journal of the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology, "Jissenshin Neurogaku Zasshi," is the oldest psychiatry-related journal in Japan, with 122 volumes published as of 2020. This journal was first published as "Jissenshin Neurogaku Zasshi" (Jissenshin Neurogaku Zasshi) when the Japanese Society of Neurology (now the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology) was established in 1902 (Meiji 35), and was renamed to "Jissenshin Neurogaku Zasshi" in 1935 (Showa 10). It is currently distributed to all 18,000 members as an online journal, and approximately 7,000 copies are published in print, which is subscribed to by all psychiatrists in Japan. In addition, the 2017 edition of the journal has been included in MEDLINE (US National Library of Medicine), the world's largest literature database accessible from PubMed. Since 2019, some articles have been made available to non-members immediately after publication, and almost all articles have been made available to non-members one year after publication.
