Scope
The Medical Journal of the Mexican Social Security Institute is an official publication of the Medical Benefits Directorate.
The Medical Journal of the Mexican Social Security Institute (Rev Med IMSS) has as one of its fundamental objectives to disseminate clinical and therapeutic information obtained from the daily practice generated in the biomedical area of the Mexican Social Security Institute and other institutions. It publishes articles previously approved by its Editorial Board, which are distributed in the sections Editorials, Clinical Contributions, Social Medicine, Family Medicine, Daily Practice and General Information. In addition, a section of Letters to the Editor is included when there is correspondence whose appearance in the journal is of interest.
The IMSS Medical Journal generally accepts the guidelines established in the Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to a biomedical journal of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors published on January 1, 1997 in Annals of Internal Medicine [Ann Intern Med 1997;126 (1): 36-47], whose translation appeared in Rev Med IMSS 1997;35 (6):469-480.
