Scope

Blood Global Hematology is an online, open access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality research, local adaptations of guidelines, epidemiology and public health analyses, and opinion articles that address hematologic issues of global impact and aim to improve the lives of patients all over the world, with an emphasis on low- and middle-income counties. The journal is a focused space for dissemination of regional research, as well as research that involves global populations and international networks of collaborators. It provides high-quality peer review and a supportive publication experience for authors, particularly those from regions currently underrepresented in the medical literature. As part of the Blood journals portfolio, Blood Global Hematology connects to the ASH mission of educating hematologists worldwide to improve patient care. Blood Global Hematology provides an international forum for the publication of original manuscripts describing basic laboratory, translational, and clinical investigations in hematology research that address issues of global reach and with a global focus. Examples of this journal’s scope include: • Healthcare delivery challenges in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) • Clinical cases in local settings that provide important insights into disease biology, diagnosis, or management • Adaptations of medical guidelines for regional applicability • Smaller-scale observational studies of high impact in these certain regions of the world • Prospective studies using novel approaches to blood disorders that optimize resources • Description of care-delivery systems • Population health studies and analyses.
