A few defining features of the new journal include: Bridging Research and Real-World Application: The journal will provide a venue for original research and implementation science on diabetes, obesity, and cardiometabolic diseases, with a focus on improving patient outcomes, clinical applications, treatment interventions, and educational strategies; Promoting Access to Care and Education: The journal will explore access to care and strategies to promote health care access for all, as well as providing a venue for evaluation, presentation and discussion of education tools, such as ADA infographics; Premier Clinical Practice Guidelines: The journal will serve as the publication home of ADA’s Standards of Care in Diabetes—Abridged for Primary Care Professionals and the Obesity Association's Standards of Care for Overweight and Obesity; High-Level Consensus and Position Statements: The journal will feature expert consensus reports, clinical updates, and official position statements from the ADA and collaborating organizations. These statements will offer authoritative guidance on emerging science, best practices, and clinical decision-making in diabetes, obesity, and cardiometabolic care.
As the official publication home of the American Diabetes Association’s Standards of Care in Diabetes—Abridged for Primary Care Professionals and the Obesity Association’s Standards of Care in Overweight and Obesity, the journal underscores its commitment to integrating premier clinical practice guidelines into everyday practice. Diabetes, Obesity, and Cardiometabolic CARE bridges the gap between research and real-world application, equipping health care teams with the tools and knowledge needed to prevent, treat, and manage the complexities of diabetes, obesity, and metabolic diseases, while promoting access to care to improve health outcomes for all.
